Driskill Hotel
Landmark Beauty ($$$)
This historic beauty was built by cattle baron Jesse Lincoln Driskill in 1886 and was the largest, grandest, and most elaborate structure of its time. A city has sprouted up around it since, but the Driskill remains, its elegance entirely intact.
The magnificent lobby boasts a stained-glass dome ceiling, marble floors, and leathers chairs and couches. The hotel is over 130 years old, so expect sumptuous, though modestly-sized, sleeping quarters, with quirky layouts and a creaky floorboard or two.
