Eureka Skydeck
Dizzying city views
Perched on the 88th floor of Melbourne’s second-tallest building, Eureka Skydeck is the highest observation platform in the southern hemisphere.
The 360-degree views are jaw-dropping, taking in the city’s skyscrapers, sprawling suburbs, bay and surrounding ranges. If possible, head in just before sunset to watch the city transition from day to glittering night.
The optional Edge experience sees you cantilevered out of the building in a glass cube with a see-through floor.
The 297m-tall skyscraper is named for the Eureka Stockade, a nation-shaping rebellion that took place during Victoria’s gold rush in 1854. The building’s design pays tribute to this history, from the stockade flag-inspired blue-and-white cladding, to the red stripe (acknowledging blood spilt) to the golden crown (a nod to the gold rush itself).
