Prince Of Wales Hotel
Imposing 1927 hotel ($$$) with commanding views (b,l,d; $$+)
The best hotel in town if you want a place with a sense of history and unbeatable position: its Gothic outline is in every other picture of Waterton.
Rooms
“Standard” rooms are rather small, while lakeside rooms are extra but worth it.
Dining
The selection of dining options (daily 11.30am–10.00pm) are all open to non-guests. They include
- The Windsor Lounge is the more casual bar option.
- The Royal Stewart Dining Room is the fanciest option, offering near-gourmet breakfast, lunches and dinners.
But the hotel is best-known for its refined afternoon teas (1–5pm daily) in front of glorious lake views – a real throwback to colonial times and the Golden Age of travel.
Dress well, as the place is fairly smart.
