Jasper Visitor Centre
Jasper National Park & town info service
Jasper’s central National Park Visitor Centre is for park-related and campground information, sells backcountry wilderness permits, and lets you register for backpacking trails. It has a vital up-to-date list of trail closures and advisories, which you should check before you head out. They also have good free local maps and a free guide to all hiking and biking trails.
Jasper Chamber
Also here is a desk of the Jasper Chamber of Commerce which handles town info and help in finding accommodation. They have a list of local private rooms (stayinjasper.com), which typically run between $100-180 a double, sometimes with continental breakfast.
Friends of Jasper
The centre also has a Friends of Jasper shop, run by a local organisation that offers guided walks (by donation) on local history and legends; theatre performances and wildlife talks. You can register here for these events.
