Stanley Glacier Trail
Attractive hike to Glacier: 4hrs/11km/moderate
This out-and-back trail follows Stanley Creek east to its source, the Stanley Glacier.
The first (and last) 2km of the hike travel through an area that saw a huge forest fire in 1968 which left 24km2 of forest blighted. But fires are a vital part of the natural life cycle of a forest and signs of regeneration abound.
Beyond this zone the trail gently switchbacks into a beautiful hanging valley below Stanley Peak, above its shimmering glacier.
