Open House
Visits to historical houses

The Barbados National Trust’s Open House programme offers visitors and residents alike the chance to take a guided tour round a selection of the island’s historical buildings, some of which are usually not open to the public.
Locations differ each year but range from some splendid plantation-era great houses, such as Heron Bay House (pictured above), to more esoteric offerings, such as the Bridgetown synagogue or the Barbados Yacht Club. Some years even Ilaro Court – the Prime Minister’s official residence – is open for viewing.
Light refreshments and local arts and crafts are usually available for sale at the event.
Events have been suspended since 2021.
