Shark Hole
Hidden Gem
A tongue-shaped sliver of a sheltered cove, west of the mega-construction work at Sam Lord’s Castle, lies the Shark Hole.
A hidden gem, it is known by few (beyond local families). There’s limited space on the sand, so it’s best at low tide (check the tide-timetable) when the reef at its mouth keeps the waves at bay, and children can play in the shallows. And no – you won’t find any sharks there.
By bus: Blue bus #12A from Fairchild St Bus Terminal (Bridgetown) bound for Sam Lord’s Castle, passes nearby. The beach is a third of a mile (400m) from the bus stop. Check the bus timetables.
By car: There’s informal parking nearby.
