Payne's Bay

Picture-postcard beach

View of the beach at Paynes Bay in Barbados with the powdery sand and warm blue waters.

A gorgeous arc of soft sand, Paynes Bay is bookended by a fish market at the south end and the ostentatious pile #1 Sandy Lane at the north. From here you can walk to Sandy Lane Bay at low tide.

There’s virtually no shade at Payne’s Bay, but sun-lounger and umbrella rental is available, and although there’s no dedicated beach bar, drinks and light-bites are easy to access. Turtles and the occasional stingray favour these shallows, attracting cruising catamarans, which anchor offshore.
