Earthworks Pottery
Ceramics & batik
You can’t travel far in Barbados without seeing the eye-catching products of the Earthworks Pottery – brightly coloured restaurant tableware, house name plates, or the fabulous environmental mural at Jackson, near Warrens.
Affording wonderful views over southern Barbados, the studio-shop sells all manner of ceramic souvenirs: from plates to mugs, coasters to vases, and teapots to toothbrush holders, in a range of designs and shiny glazes. You can also peek at the potters at work.
Next door, The Batik Studio boasts similarly bright designs with Caribbean themes, and is another good source of holiday souvenirs. You can also sign up for a full-day workshop (BD$400) with the artist, learning how to create your own batik designs.
