The Royal Pavilion

A party pad made for a prince

Brighton.

This flamboyant palace was built by the fun-loving Prince Regent, later King George IV, who loved spending time at his seaside party pad. Work started in 1787 and took 15 years to complete.

Although the building would look more at home in India, it doesn't appear as incongruous as you would think in Brighton, somehow fitting in with the city's off-beat nature.

The grandeur of the interior is as stunning as the exterior - sumptuous, colourful and Indio-Chinese in style.
