The Undercliff Walk
A seafront stroll (6 miles/ 2hr)
This 3-mile path runs from Brighton Marina to coastal village of Saltdean.
The wide flat pathway can be used by both walkers and cyclists: the 6-mile walk there-and-back will take around 2hrs on foot or 30min on a bike.
With white chalk cliffs on one side and the beach on the other, it's far quieter than central Brighton and ideal if you want to escape the crowds.
On windy days, the sea often crashes onto the pathway, throwing up pebbles in its wake. It's a dramatic sight, but care should be taken. There are a couple of cafes en route with fine sea views.
