Check your bill carefully as many restaurants add on a service charge automatically, especially for groups of six or more. This will normally be 12.5%.
If the charge hasn't been added to your bill, the average amount to tip runs at 10–15%. It isn't customary to tip in pubs.
Taxi fares are often rounded up to the next pound, hotel porters would expect to receive around £2.00 per bag and tour guides approximately 10% of the price of the tour.
