Snorkelling Aitutaki

Aitutaki lagoon dream time!

While you can snorkel around the main island of Aitutaki, without doubt, the best snorkelling is to be had in the lagoon and around the motu, the small islands.

That means you’ve got to get out there somehow, either as part of a lagoon cruise or on a taxi boat.

If you don’t have your own snorkelling gear, the cruise may be a good option as use of gear is included. If you’ve brought your own snorkelling gear - recommended if you are into snorkelling - then the water taxi option may suit better.

Vaimaaga, Rarotonga (482288)

Teking’s Snorkelling Safari Cruise includes three snorkelling stops at the giant trevally, giant clams and purple coral hotspots.

On the main island, the best snorkelling is to be had in the north of the island off the beach at the western end of the unused airport runway.
