Grič Tunnel
WWII shelter & short-cut

Running right under Zagreb’s Upper Town is the Grič Tunnel, a passageway and air-raid shelter built during World War II.
Consisting of a 350-metre-long east-west corridor with a northward spur, the tunnel was reopened in 2016 to serve as an idiosyncratic tourist attraction.
Built with a barrel roof of smooth concrete, the tunnel provides an unexpectedly appealing walking experience and has become a popular way of getting around the city.
The tunnel is free to enter and there are three public entrances, the eastern one on Radićeva, a western one on Mesnička, and a southern one in the courtyard behind Tomića 5a.
Open: daily 09:00 - 21:00
