Prime among Samobor’s specialities is the Kremšnita, the wobbly cube of yellow, custardy, vanilla-flavoured cream squeezed between layers of mille-feuille pastry. One of the best places to sample it is U Prolazu, a comfy cafe that comes with an expansive and much patronised terrace on the main square.
The perfect kremšnita should be soft, fluffy and not over-sweet - something that U Prolazu does to perfection. Eat here once and you’re sure to be back for more.
