REGIONS

The Dordogne département is part of the recently-created (2016) Nouvelle-Aquitaine Région, located in South-West France and forms the main focus of this guide.

But the term Dordogne also goes well beyond this beautiful département and encompasses all the lands around this meandering stretch of the magnificent Dordogne River, which has its source in the central highlands of the Massif Centrale.

This includes upstream sections in the Corrèze and Lot départements and this app covers these too. It not only incorporates the entire navigable upstream section of the Dordogne River in these regions but also many towns and sights in those areas that you wouldn’t want to miss.
