Autumn: Sept, Oct & Nov

Autumn Leaves

Autumn descends fairly gently on Edinburgh with September daytime temperatures still averaging 16ºC/61ºF. But by the end of November these have dropped to 8ºC/46ºF – demanding at least one more layer of clothing.

As the good weather ebbs away, one final hurrah to enjoy is Edinburgh's Doors Open Day (late-Sept). This weekend seems lots of attractions open their doors for free, while many other interesting buildings, usually closed to the public, open up to visitors.

After that it's only about seven weeks to the start of Edinburgh's Christmas celebrations!
