Above towers the magnificent 11th Century Romanesque St-Vorles Church with its 4th Centurt Oratory in the Crypt standing near the ruins of the castle of the Dukes of Burgundy.
The Philandrier House where the Trésor de Vix can be seen
The Philandrier House houses Chatillon’s Museum of Pays Chatillonnais housed in a 16th Century Renaissance House on the rue du Bourg. The outstanding exhibit is the fabulous Treasure of Vix. The Treasure was found in 1953 by two amateur archaeologists who were excavating a 5th Century royal tomb and consists of a huge 1.64m high, 208 kg bronze vase, a gold torque and wooden funeral chariot.
