Haunted Bridges

cataract falls covered bridge

When Indiana Ghost Trackers came to Parke County, Indiana, the Covered Bridge Capitol of the Midwest they found plenty of orbs on several bridges.

Orbs is a term used by the Indiana Ghost Trackers, a non-profit ghost hunting organization, for the beginning manifestation of a ghostly appearance. There was even a photo taken of what looked like a man dropping from the Bridgeton Bridge.

Bridgeton Bridge

The 245-foot scarlet double spanned Bridgeton Bridge, which crosses a cascading falls and connects to the small town of Bridgeton where an old gristmill sits on the banks of the Raccoon Creek, is one of the most photographed spots in the Midwest.

The bridge has long been believed to be haunted. Back in the early 1900s, a horse got spooked and took off, throwing the buggy into one of the bridge's arches and killing a young woman. But why a man's figure appeared in the photo and not a woman's, no one knows.
