North Webster
Lake living
Clamber aboard the Dixie, the oldest stern wheel paddleboat left in Indiana. Now celebrating its 80th year, the two story Dixie, once a floating blacksmith, lumber and grocery ferry, cruises along the perimeter of Webster Lake.
Head to the beach at the small town park on the shores of Webster Lake. Bring a lawn chair and watch the ski team shows. Attend a boat-in church service on the waters on Sunday mornings in the summer. Celebrate small town lake living at the Mermaid Festival each June. Spend the night, rent a boat and buy some bait at Fisherman Cove right on the water's edge.
Wander through the charming lakeside town of North Webster, just blocks from the Dixie’s dock.
This part of Indiana is known for its breaded cheeseburgers (don’t even think about the calories) and one place to get them is at the American Legion on S.R. 13 in the downtown.
