Mt Yōtei 羊蹄山

Ezo-Fuji (Hokkaidō’s Mt Fuji)

ミルク工房からの羊蹄山

Yōtei-zan is known as Ezo-Fuji (the Mt Fuji of Hokkaidō), and like the real Mt Fuji, is spectacular when seen from afar. The winter views of snow-covered Yōtei-zan from the ski slopes of Niseko are hard to forget.

If you’re going to climb 1898m Yōtei-zan though, you’re going to need some physical and mental fortitude. While the trail is relatively easy, you’ll be climbing and later descending 1670 vertical metres, meaning you’re in for a long 9-10 hour day. Be suitably prepared!
