Museo de Sorrolla
A hidden gem dedicated to the Spanish painter
Tucked away in the north of the city is this little gem of a museum dedicated to Spanish painter Joaquín Sorrolla.
Housed in his former residence with its charming Andalucian-style patio garden, this museum holds some the artist's most eye-catching work.
Sun-drenched beach scenes from his native Valencia, family portraits and studies of traditional costumes are strewn across his house and studio, furnished with an array of contemporary ceramics, sculpture and jewellery. Sorrolla's work is accessible enough for younger members of the family too.
