Museo Cerralbo
A window on 19th-century aristocratic life
Perched alongside the busy Plaza de España but a world away from the bustling streets of the Spanish capital, this stately mansion is home to the eclectic collections and possessions of the politician and collector the Marqúes de Cerralbo.
Inside is a marvellously diverse array of paintings (including works by El Greco and Zurbarán), furniture and objets d'art displayed exactly as the Marqúes left them. The magnificent mirrored ballroom is one highlight, but the main attraction lies in immersing yourself in the atmosphere of this aristocratic residence.
