Stunning collection of pre-Colombian artefacts

The Museo de América contains a wonderful collection of pre-Colombian American exhibits, including the Madrid Codex, a rare Mayan hieroglyphic manuscript, and the Quimbayas Treasure, a stunning collection of gold figures and ornaments dating back to the fifth century.

Open: Tues, Wed & Fri: 9.30am–3pm, Thurs 9.30am–7pm, Sun 10am–3pm.
Cost: €3, free on Sun & Thurs after 2pm; free for Under-18s, students and Over-65s.
Closed: Jan 1st & 6th, May 1st, Dec 24th, 25th & 31st.
