Yves Saint Laurent Museum
Dedicated to Marrakesh resident YSL - متحف إيف سان لوران
Marrakesh’s Yves Saint Laurent Museum is a fitting homage to the French fashion designer, often known as just “YSL”, who lived in Marrakesh and saved the neighbouring Majorelle Garden. Most people combine a visit to the musuem with a visit to the garden, but note that tickets for both are available on line only.
Housed in an impressive new building with a textured brickwork exterior, the museum starts with a small photographic exhibition. In the main hall, the prototype versions of fifty of YSL’s most iconic creations are on display. There’s also a ten-minute film about the man and his work, and temporary exhibitions, usually of photography.
