Aswak Assalam
Handy supermarket near the bus station
Aswak Assalam is a national supermarket chain with two branches in Marrakesh (the other one is out past the station on Avenue Hassan II). This one, across from the gare routière (intercity bus station), is the handiest supermarket if you're staying in the Medina.
Advantages of shopping here are that you can just wander round it unharassed, checking out the wares, and picking up whatever you fancy, and that things like dairy goods are probably fresher than at small shops. You can also weigh out stuff like spices and olives yourself.
They have a good range of fruit and veg too, although it's a bit pricier than in the Medina. And they have crockery, cutlery and kitchenware. They don't sell booze, however.
On the way out, there's a bakery.
