Castillo de Chapultepec
Chapultepec Castle
North America’s only royal castle, the towering Castillo de Chapultepec served as a home for Emperor Maximilian and Empress Carlotta from 1864 to 1867 and it was the official residence for Mexican presidents until 1939 when it was converted into the museum that exists today.
A stroll through the onsite Museo Nacional de Historia (National History Museum) allows you to immerse yourself in the extravagant world of a bygone aristocracy as you explore the opulent rooms showcasing old war weapons and important works of Mexican art.
