Museo Dolores Olmedo
Old hacienda with Rivera and Kahlo paintings
Dolores Olmedo, a close friend of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, amassed a collection of more than 150 of the famous painters’ works during her lifetime, which are displayed here alongside some 6,000 pre-Hispanic figurines and a variety of folk and contemporary art.
Xoloitzcuintles (Mexican hairless dogs) and peacocks roam the verdant gardens of this 16th-century hacienda. It’s best reached by car.
