High quality French bistro (d; $$$)

Bright contemporary French bistro just off the main Gay Village drag where a hand-written chalkboard menu describes a colourful menu of imaginative fish and meat dishes – including duck, beef, rabbit and lamb – served in delicious sauces and with locally-grown sides.

Weekend brunches are much cheaper than evening meals, when mains average over $30. But this is one of Montreal’s best restos to allow you to bring your own wine, so the final bill can be pretty reasonable given the quality of the food.
