Resto Végo St-Denis

Outstanding veggie buffet (l,d; $$)

This long-standing vegetarian cafeteria was, along with a couple of other Montreal restaurants, formally run by Commensal who have since turned their attention to supplying regional grocery stores with ready meals (well worth a try if you have kitchen facilities).

Resto Végo continues their good work here, providing an expansive buffet of hot and cold meals – 200 dishes that include quiche, salads, stir fry, tofu, seitan and great cakes – that you pay for by weight.

It's hard to beat for speed and quality, which along with place's long hours and relaxed atmosphere mean it pretty much hums around the clock.
