Garden City

This family resort town is considered part of the Grand Strand, although it’s farther south and totally away from the glitz of shopping, dining or entertainment which are found in the main beach areas. Small motels along the beach cater to anglers, and restaurants cater to locals or the Snow Birds who are the seasonal visiting retirees.

Atlantic Avenue is the main street which hosts a few restaurants, bars, a beachwear store, an arcade and a family amusement park with climbing wall and bungee. Atlantic intersects Waccamaw Avenue at the Garden City Pier, a central feature of this small town.

The southern part of Garden City Beach is actually in Georgetown County.
