Georgetown

Georgetown, South Carolina, is a small, quaint and historic town on the Sampit River. It’s south of Myrtle Beach and claims to have been the site of the first European settlement in North America in 1526. It was founded in 1729.

Its rich history can be enjoyed in a stroll along the downtown riverfront and in the Georgetown County Museum, Kaminski House Museum or the Rice Museum.

Antiques, art galleries, boutiques, bars and restaurants make the stroll a pleasure. The annual Wooden Boat Show is a really enjoyable festival with boats on exhibit in the water as well as accessories and other vendors' wares on the street
