Dagwood’s Deli

"Nobody beats our meat" (l; $)

The meat is Boar’s Head, the big rolls are fresh, and the food is prepared in an open kitchen. A local favorite since 1988, Dagwood’s serves big fat sandwiches, as the name implies, with names such as The Beach Boys, The Southern, The Bad Billy or The Brooks Brother. In keeping with local sports fans faves, the specialties might be The Gamecock (chicken breast) or The Tiger (ribeye). Cheesesteaks are shrimp, chicken, oriental, Philly and more. Salads and plenty of choices also are large and tempting.

Don’t be surprised that most of the crowd wears a badge and carries a gun. They’re the Myrtle Beach finest on lunch break from the nearby cop shop.

Bumstead’s Pub is adjoining the deli with longer hours and Crappy Hour 10 pm – Midnight.

Second great location of Dagwood’s is a sports bar on U.S. 17 in Surfside Beach. It boasts 50 TVs, billiard tables, darts and similar menu choices.

The third location opened in North Myrtle Beach in 2022 and promises the same fine food and sports atmosphere.
