Chesapeake House
Family-owned family dining (d; $$)
Fresh seafood here piled high on big platters is especially good for families or crowds. The bakery is second to none, baking cinnamon rolls or hush puppies daily and sending some next door for the other restaurant too.
The homemade desserts also are luscious. Try some chocolate chip walnut pie or some white chocolate bread pudding, and you’ll know you are in the South too!
It’s a family-owned restaurant, in the same group as the less-casual neighboring Chestnut Hill, both of which look out over a little lake which claims a gator to possibly be spotted.
It’s easy to find near what locals call Restaurant Row between Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach.
