The Legends

Heathland, Moorland and Parkland ($$$)

The Legends has three excellent courses here which are distinctly different from each other. The full facility golf resort is conveniently located off U.S. 501 S. at the entrance to Myrtle Beach.

Note, the Legends Resort is a smoke free resort. This includes the clubhouse, the resort building and the Ailsa Pub. Smoking is allowed on the grounds of the resort and in some designated villas.

Rental units and the pub make this the ideal spot for a golfer who wants to do nothing but eat, drink and play golf. It’s tucked away from the actual beach environment, but the steak houses and clubs are only a few miles away if it gets too quiet here.

About the Courses

The Moorland was recently designated by Golf Digest as one of the 50 Toughest Courses in America. Enough said. Pete Dye designed this course for mainly scratch or near-scratch golfers. If you are not one of these, don’t frustrate yourself and slow everyone else down. Stay away from it.
