The Author

A born and bred Kiwi, Craig McLachlan invented his own job title - he’s a ‘freelance anything’ - see www.craigmclachlan.com

Based in Queenstown, NZ about half the year, Craig has been writing guidebooks since the late 1990s for Lonely Planet (over 50 editions) - this is his first travel app.

Fluent in Japanese, he’s also been guiding Japanese visitors around NZ and all over the globe for close on three decades - such as to Switzerland, France, Austria, Italy, Greece, Canada, New Caledonia and Tonga. He’s also led groups of foreigners around Japan.

Craig has written five non-fiction books on his adventures in Japan and a novel called ‘Kiwi Republic’.

He is also a Marriage Celebrant, a pilot, karate instructor and tennis hack!
