There are several areas where you can enjoy Lima’s nightlife. The most famous are in Miraflores but every district has their own nightlife center. Below are just a few options.

Lima doesn’t have a LGBTQ+ neighborhood but there are some gay-friendly bars and restaurants sprinkled through Miraflores, Barranco and Central Lima. The best resource I’ve found is Nomadic Boys’ interview with Limeñian guide Aaron Peiva Leyton.

• Miraflores: There is a whole row of bars on Calle Berlin. You can also check out Vale Todo DownTown nightclub (Calle los Pinos 168).

• San Isidro: Check out the streets that lead from Plaza Unión Europea. Dossis consistently received great reviews.

• Barranco: Many of Barranco’s best bars are centered around the Plaza de Armas de Barranco.

• Lima Center: This is a more dispersed area which doesn’t have just one street with bars. There is a fun rasta-themed bar called Etnias Bar Cultural on Jirón de la Unión 1074.

• Lince: Check out Risso Avenida Arequipa & Avenida Arenales.

• San Miguel: Most bars are along Avenida La Marina & Plaza San Miguel.

Transport & safety

Plan your night out carefully to avoid unsafe areas and transportation. You can use rideshare apps like Uber to improve accountability. Also, ask at your hotel for advice about nighttime transportation and safety.
