El Duende
Best té piteado (d $$)
El Duende means “the gnome” in Spanish. Like their English counterparts, Peruvian duendes are mischievous and can cause all kinds of trouble.
The bar is best known for its pitchers of té piteado. This is hot black tea spiked with Pisco or rum. On a cold night in Cusco (all nights in Cusco are cold and more so June - August) it’s the perfect drink!
There is a limited menu, mostly of bar food like burgers and chicken wings. The food is good but the service is very slow.
The vibe is loud and lively. Open 5pm-2am and usually very crowded after midnight. If you want a table, try to get there before 10pm.
