This is a legitimate animal rescue shelter that has a veterinarian on staff and works hard to release animals as soon as possible. Animals are confiscated from the illegal pet trade and rescued from all kinds of terrible situations. Amazon Shelter’s goal is to get them healthy quickly so they can be released to the wild. They have a partnership with the San Diego Zoo so they can call the zoo’s vets for real time video consultations on animals that come in with medical complications beyond the staff’s skillset.
