Kion
Peruvian Chinese Fusion (l,d; $$)
This is one of the most popular fusion restaurants in Cusco. It’s also one of the best at catering to dietary restrictions. While most Peruvian Chinese restaurants (called chifa) have bits of pork in everything, the vegetarian fried rice (called chaufa) at Kion really is vegetarian.
For those with Celiac disease, this is a place that understands cross-contamination and is good at serving food that actually is gluten-free. This is also a great restaurant for mixed drinks, both cocktails and mocktails.
The name Kion is the Peruvian word for ginger. The traditional Spanish word “jengibre” is almost never used in Peru.
