Gigondas
Châteauneuf du Pape's other little brother
Gigondas is a typical small Provençal village but it is really all about wine. The red AOC Gigondas is a particularly good robust wine which can keep for 10 years if stored correctly. Like nearby Vacqueras it is also often referred to as a little brother of Châteauneuf du Pape
One of the Côtes du Rhône Villages, Gigondas was originally known for its white wine but over the years the village has become increasingly famous for its red. They produce some rosé but the village’s prestige arises from the high quality rouge.
