A Boat Trip to the Calanques

Cassis and the colossal Calanques

Callanques Boat Trip

Just along the coast from Marseille is the picturesque port of Cassis from where you can take a boat excursion or coastal trail to see the Calanques.

The Calanques, Fjord like inlets, are huge limestone cliffs which plunge into the Mediterranean and indent the coast between Cassis to Marseille. If you walk the coastal trail, wear good walking shoes and take plenty of water as there are no cafés or restaurants en route. Taking the path allows you to rock climb and enjoy flora, fauna and beaches. Be sure to take the IGN des Calanques map and visit this website for access conditions.

Boat trips are available from Cassis and Marseille. Choose from a limited Calanque tour (3, 5 or 8 Calanques) or visit all 9. Some boats have a glass bottom.
