Place Rossetti
The heart of Vieux Nice
Situated right in the heart of Vieux Nice and 200 metres from the Cours Saleya you will find one the most attractive squares in town.
Cathédrale Ste-Réparate
Place Rossetti with its red and yellow ochre coloured buildings on three sides of the square is unmissable. The Cathédrale Ste-Réparate stands impressively on the fourth side. Built between 1747 and 1770 by Bernardo Vittone to the design of the Italian Priest Guarini in the Baroque style, this elegant building has an elliptical nave and semi-circular side chapels distinguishing it completely from the straight lines of previous religious buildings.
A vibrant place
During the day the square is filled with visitors eating in the restaurants and patronising the ice cream outlets. Moreover, in the evening they are all joined by local young people out to enjoy the loud music played here!
Once you’ve had your fill of the vibrant atmosphere you can wander the quieter old streets leading off the square.
