Carnoustie Championship Course
A tough beauty
Widely agreed to be Britain’s toughest course, Carnoustie (par 72) draws expert golfers who love a challenge.
The attractive course (6,941 yards) features many really long holes (over half exceed 400 yards); rough tall grown grass; deep bunkers; and two burns (streams) that always seem to be exactly where you don’t want them.
You’ll need to reserve well in advance and present a handicap certificate to play. If you can’t get time, try one of the two other good (and far less expensive) courses close by; all three Carnoustie courses are bookable online.
