The Glenlivet

Scotland's 1st legal distillery & still among the most popular

After becoming the first Scottish distillery to register itself in 1824, The Glenlivet quickly became a global brand and has remained so ever since.

The whisky’s floral, fragrant, medium-bodied nature has made it particularly successful in North America, and over the years its been bought up by major concerns. It’s now owned by Pernod Ricard.

In contrast to their aging casks and musty warehouse, their exhibition and highly-recommended tours (both free) are comprehensive and polished.

A stretch of long distance footpath The Speyside Way, passes through the grounds and can be followed for a good leg-stretch in quiet rolling Banffshire countryside.
