Robert Burns Birthplace Museum
The writer's cottage
This museum divides into a modern museum housing the world's most important collection of works of Scotland's bard and the humble cottage where he was born which is now a place of pilgrimage for all those in awe of his talents.
Burns Heritage Trail
The visitor centre is the start of a 199-mile Burns Heritage Trail, a scenic drove which forms a loop to include the Robert Burns Centre (Tues–Sat 10am –1pm & 2–5pm; free entry) in Dumfries. This has a smaller exhibition on the poet but is also a functioning RBC Theature, an arts centre with cinema and theatre.
Also in Dumfries is the Burns House (Tues–Sat 10am –1pm & 2–5pm; free entry) where Burns lived the last three years of his life.
