Vieira
Scallop

The traditional symbol of pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago who collected a vieira to prove they had reached their destination.
The vieira is a real delicacy with two distinct elements: the scallop meat which is firm and white and the roe which is soft and bright orange in colour.
They are often served up their shells, but sometimes the scallop is removed and dished up on its own.
