Mahón
Traditional Menorcan chees

A traditional, softish white-coloured cheese made from cows’ milk that comes from Menorca and is named after the capital Mahón. The cheese has a distinct flavour in part due to specific climatic and soil characteristics in which the free ranging cattle are reared and also to the traditional maturing practices.
The softest cheese if matured for at least 21 days, the firmer semi-cured is matured for over 60 days and the firmer, more intense tasking cured cheese is matured for over 15 days.
