York's 1930's art deco Odeon cinema has had yet another revamp, to become a state-of-the-art four screen cinema for the 21st century.

The cinema has reduced the number of seats in the cinema, replacing many of the seats with plush velvet sofas with small tables.

This is the cinema for those who love to snack, eat and drink while watching the film. There's a wide selection of drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), nibbles and meals such as pizza (around £7). Orders are taken on arrival and served on small trays in your seat before the feature starts. Film prices around £13.50.

Additionally, a Spielburger restaurant provides food for those who prefer to separate viewing and eating.

The cinema is about ten minutes walk from the station (or five minutes from Micklegate Bar), outside the walls.
