Theatres & Cinemas
Greeks love to go to the cinema and a night at an open air one is an experience definitely not to be missed when in Greece and Athens.
Most neighbourhoods have outdoor cinemas and usually start sometime in July until September. Some may even start mid May or June.
There are two showings a night, one about 9ish and the late one at 11ish.
They’re either located on a rooftop or garden, all films have intervals
where refreshments are available such as nachos, popcorn, soft drinks, beer and alcohol - some even serve cocktails.
Some also show old classics such as Cary Grant films, Betty Davis, etc and all films are in the native language (ie: English) with Greek subtitles, so don’t be worried about not understanding what’s going on.
